Lonely Planet named as the best city to travel to in 2020. The Austrian city has become increasingly popular and has lots to offer. It is Mozart’s birth place, the home of the sound of music and the entrance point to many other beautiful places in Austria as well as Germany. We recommend not do a daytrip to Salzburg and staya little bit longer. Best time to visit is anything but the craziness around Salzburger Festspiele. The classical musical fest starts half July and ends in August. During the summer expect large crowds in the city center but smaller crowds elsewhere.
