Stay on the right bank and above the town: Mirabell's gardens, Steingasse's medieval lane and the river walks opposite the Old Town carry the afternoon, and the Monchsberg's clifftop paths look down on it all. If you want a taste without a ticket, the squares empty into the concert halls when the concerts begin. advice
