Bruges, Belgium - August 20

Bruges is a small and immensely popular UNESCO World Heritage Site that attracts more than 1.13 million visitors each year. Its medieval city center stretches only 430 acres and has approximately 20.000 inhabitants. With only 8800 guest beds and very limited possibility for cars to enter the city, it is not equipped for mass tourism. The town is severely impacted by the large amounts of cruise passengersthat set foot in this lovely coastal town. The best time to visit the city, known for its Belgium beers and home to an official ‘Fries Museum’, is March or May. Unfortunately, the weather is not very predictable during these months.
