New football season starts in July at BC Place
15 Jul – 31 Dec 2026A new football season starts in the middle of July 2027 and runs into December. For the first time the stadium has league matches right through the busiest weeks of the summer.
Junior hockey is no longer at the Pacific Coliseum
20 Sep – 18 Mar 2027The junior hockey team that used to play at the Pacific Coliseum now plays in Langley, well outside the city. The arena at Hastings Park no longer has a regular winter schedule.
No horse racing at Hastings Park in 2027
25 Apr – 25 Nov 2026The horse racing track at Hastings Park has closed. The race days that used to fill that site on summer and autumn weekends are not in the 2027 calendar.
The outdoor season closes down

- The steam clock at Water and Cambie: Coach groups stop at one corner of a narrow cobbled pavement.
- The Stanley Park seawall: One nine-kilometre path carries the walkers, the runners and the cyclists together.
- The Granville Island ferry landing: On a sunny weekend the ferry queue is longer than the visit to the market.
