Where are the crowds in Nice during the Marathon?
The seafront is the start line. The Promenade des Anglais closes for the morning while the field gathers and goes, and the hotels along it are full of runners for the weekend — a good share of them from abroad. By the time the city is fully awake the race has left town heading west, so it is a half-day event here, not a full one.
Road closures: what closes and when the streets reopen
The Promenade des Anglais closes for the start on the Sunday morning, and the course leaves the city westward along the coast road. The organiser publishes the closure map and the reopening times on its own site — if you are driving west out of Nice that morning, or staying on the seafront, read it first.
