St George's: trade Sat 14 Nov for Fri 13 Nov
In St George's a Busy day can sit right next to a Calm one. Saturday 14 November 2026 is Busy. Sunday 15 November is Calm.
Sat 14 Nov is Busy in St George's; Fri 13 Nov is Calm. Move the visit by a day and the same city is quieter.
Take January or April, not December or March
December and March are the peak: Busy or Packed on all 31 days each. Between them, January has 13 Busy or Packed days out of 31 and February 15 out of 28. On either side, November has 6 and April 3.
If winter is when you travel, take January or February rather than December or March; in January up to 4 ships call on one day, so check the ships page. April has 3 Busy days and 10 ship days.
Watch the ship list, not the school holidays
No school holidays drive St George's forecast. Its listed drivers are public holidays: the United States 14 days, the UK 13, Grenada 12. The ships matter more. Every Busy or Packed day falls between October and May, the ship months, and December and March, with 21 and 18 ship days, are Busy or Packed throughout.
Before you book, open the ships page for your dates. On a ship day the Carenage rim and the Sendall Tunnel are at pier density from 10:00 to 15:00.
Book the town and spice market walk before 10:00
On a ship day one ship animates the town and two fill it; the harbor rim and the spice-market stalls load with the pier from 10:00 to 15:00. The Sendall Tunnel, in single file, is the town's one true squeeze. By sailaway it is a fishing harbor again.
Book the town and spice market walk for before 10:00 or after 15:00. Walk the Carenage rim and the market early or late, and take the Sendall Tunnel outside the pier hours.
Forts in the morning, first boats to the sculptures
Fort George's morning light over the Carenage is the view; Fort Frederick's height wins the afternoon, and the taxi-tour groups at both pass in minutes. The snorkel boats to the sculpture park in Molinere Bay get still water on the morning trips. Annandale Falls takes the excursion vans in the late morning.
Take Fort George in the morning and Fort Frederick in the afternoon. Book the first snorkel boat, and swim on to the reef edges beyond the figures. See the falls between the vans, or take the longer trails to them.
St George's: pick a plan for a Busy day
St George's is Busy or Packed on every day in December and March, and on 13 days in January and 15 in February. On those days the order matters more than the list. Every Busy or Packed day page offers three plans, each with the tickets it needs and the hours to go.
Choose One day, the big sights when you have a single day. Choose Start early, one ticket when you want to pay for one ticket only. Choose The quiet side when you want to stay away from the pier crowd altogether.
Ships call on 116 days, October to May
St George's has ships on 116 days in the coming 365, all between October 2026 and May 2027. January has 22 ship days, December 21, February 20 and March 18. In January up to 4 ships call on one day. From June to September there are no ships at all.
Check the ships page before you pick your dates. On a ship day, go to Grand Anse's far southern curve or into the Grand Etang rainforest between 10:00 and 15:00, and come back to the Carenage after sailaway.
Sleep near Morne Rouge or Grand Anse's south end
St George's crowd is the Carenage rim and the Sendall Tunnel on ship days, and Annandale Falls in the late morning. Grand Anse's southern curve, Morne Rouge bay over the headland, the forts' batteries and the Grand Etang rainforest stay quiet.
Stay near Grand Anse's southern curve or Morne Rouge bay, a short way from the pier. The city page names the quiet places and links to hotels there.
Pack for 30 °C and rain on 17 days
In September St George's has about 30 °C by day and rain on about 17 days. The tips above ask for early boats, two hill forts and the longer trails to the falls.
Bring shoes you can walk in on wet trails, a charged phone or power bank for tickets and maps, a water bottle, and a compact umbrella.
