Update: Incident at One Vanderbilt – Shaking Felt, Summit Ascent Temporarily Closed
Recently, as reported by the New York Post, an incident took place at One Vanderbilt in New York City on March 21, 2023, where the building experienced shaking, causing some concerns among workers and visitors. The Ascent Experience, a lift attraction, seems to be temporarily closed as no tickets will be available until March 26.
The newspaper writes that, according to a building representative, the shaking was due to maintenance work on an exterior elevator at SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, which resulted in vibrations being felt throughout the building. Fortunately, no one was injured and there was no danger to the building or its occupants.
According to the Post, The FDNY confirmed that they received a report of a stuck elevator but closed the call without any further incident. While the Ascent Experience remains temporarily closed, regular tickets for One Vanderbilt are still available as usual. Visitors can continue to enjoy the breathtaking views and experiences offered by this iconic New York City attraction.
