Doing the Math: Is All Inclusive at Le Meridien Maldives Worth it?
The all-inclusive package at Le Meridien Maldives may seem expensive at first glance, but when you consider the cost of meals and drinks at the resort, it can actually save you money. To see if the all-inclusive package is worth it for you, let’s do some calculations based on the prices listed above:
First, let’s look at the cost of breakfast. The all-inclusive package includes daily breakfast for $30, while going without the package and paying à la carte will cost about $37 (including taxes and gratuity). However, if you are a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member or above, you can get complimentary breakfast as your welcome gift, so this cost can be left out of the calculation.
Totally worth it if you take every meal or enjoy alcoholic beverages
If you’re planning to fully utilize all of the meals and drinks offered by the all-inclusive package at Le Meridien Maldives, it’s likely that you will be able to save over $100 per day by opting for the all-inclusive package. Here’s a breakdown of the costs. This includes two alcoholic drinks at lunch and dinner and three drinks at Riviera. If you replace those with soft drinks, you will reduce the bill without about 60 USD making the all-inclusive package still worth it if you decide to enjoy every meal.
Meal/Drink | Cost without All-Inclusive Package ($) |
Breakfast (if not included as Marriott Bonvoy welcome gift) | $37 |
Lunch (appetizer, main course, dessert, two drinks) | $16 + $28 + $18 + $28 = $90 |
Dinner (appetizer, main course, dessert, two drinks) | $22 + $32 + $20 + $30 = $104 |
Minibar (50 USD per day + tax and gratuity) | $35 |
Drinks at Riviera (3 drinks for 15 USD each + tax and gratuity) | $45 |
Tax & Gratuitities | Tax $49 + Gratuities $31 = 80 |
Total per day | 391 |
All-Inclusive Package (for 1 adult) | $260 (includes tax) |
As you can see, without the all-inclusive package, you can expect to pay about $391 per day for all of these meals, drinks, and amenities. With the all-inclusive package, however, you can enjoy all of these things for a fixed price of $260, which means you can save over $100 per day. Of course, everyone’s needs and preferences are different, so it’s important to consider your own eating and drinking habits when deciding whether the all-inclusive package is worth it for you.
Pros and Cons: All-Inclusive Le Méridien Maldives
It sounds like at Le Meridien Maldives, and the all-inclusive package includes access to all restaurants on the resort. Still, you may be served a slightly different menu than what is available to non-all-inclusive guests. This can be a pro or a con depending on your perspective.
On the one hand, having access to the resort’s restaurants can be a significant benefit of the all-inclusive package, as it gives you more dining options. On the other hand, being served a different menu may be a disadvantage if there are specific dishes or drinks you were hoping to try but are not included in the all-inclusive menu.
Whether the all-inclusive package is worth it will depend on your personal preferences and budget. If you are willing to pay a higher upfront cost for the convenience and flexibility of the all-inclusive package, and you don’t mind being served a slightly different menu, it may be a good option. However, if you prefer to have more control over your dining and drinking choices and are willing to pay for each meal and drink separately, the all-inclusive package may not be the best choice for you.
Pros
- Can save money, especially if you plan to eat and drink a lot
- Convenient and hassle-free – no need to worry about paying for each meal and drink separately
- Often includes a variety of dining options and activities
- Can help you budget your vacation expenses in advance
Cons
- Payment upfront.
- May not include all meals and drinks (e.g. some specialty restaurants or premium brands may be excluded)
- Doesn’t include specialty or destination dining.
- May not be suitable for travelers who prefer to have more control over their dining and drinking choices
- You may be served a slightly different menu than what is available to non-all-inclusive guests

Were going to the resort soon. I found it odd that many of the cheaper vegetarian meals are not on the all inclusive. I can get a $70 steak at Vella but the $35 vegetarian burger isn’t. Hopefully they will make an exception or it’s going to be more expensive than planned.
